Teaching what you know

Everything you take for granted is course material for someone else. Guitar, Excel, photography, sourdough, a language — if you can do something, you can teach it to people happy to pay for it.

What it pays

• Private lessons: €25-50 an hour, depending on subject and experience.
• Group workshops: 6-10 participants × €30-60 each for a half day — one workshop a month is quickly €200-500.
• You sell knowledge you already have; you prepare once and reuse it every time.

Start small

• Pick one specific topic people actually search for ("phone photography basics", not "creativity").
• First round through your own network and local channels; community centres and libraries rent cheap rooms.
• Charge a normal price from day one — a free trial run is fine, structural underpricing never wears off.
• Ask for a review and a referral afterwards: that fills the next group.

The best part: like a side job in your own field, these hours count double. You build a reputation in what you're good at — and that pays again later.
