Delivering meals or packages is the fastest way to get extra money in this month: sign up, get approved, ride. It's also the side income with the lowest ceiling — so do the honest maths.

What it really pays

• Meal delivery: €12-16 per active hour including tips, but waiting time between rides drags the average down.
• Package routes: steadier, often as a contractor with your own or a rented van — work out your net hourly rate after costs before signing.
• Bike or own car? Subtract wear, fuel and insurance from your earnings — easily €2-4 an hour.

When it does make sense

Delivery is fine as a bridge: immediate money, flexible hours, no commitments. It fits when you need income now or your schedule is unpredictable. But the hours build nothing — no CV, no network, no growth. As soon as you can, trade delivery hours for hours in your own field.
